On October 20, 2017, the attorneys and employees of Fisher Rushmer, P.A. enjoyed a wonderful night of art and ballet as they helped sponsor and support the care and research for patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Fisher Rushmer, P.A.  is proud to congratulate six (6) of its attorneys who have been chosen to receive the Inaugural Ninth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Merit Award. 

The award recognizes attorneys who have shown a commitment to their local community by providing significant pro bono legal assistance to people who could not otherwise afford legal counsel. The Fisher Rushmer attorneys who were chosen to receive the Inaugural Ninth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Merit Award are Joseph L. Amos, Jr., Chris Ballentine, Eric R. Elms, David R. McFarlin, Elizabeth Collins Plummer, and C. Gene Shipley.

Fisher Rushmer P.A. attorney Penelope B. Perez-Kelly has been appointed to serve as the chair of the Florida Bar International Law Certification Committee. This appointment runs until June 30, 2018.

Florida Bar board certification recognizes attorneys whose special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice make them experts in their designated certification area.

Eric R. Elms, of Fisher Rushmer, P.A. in Orlando, a practicing lawyer since 2011, was recently recognized by the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors as the “Most Productive Board Member.”

Joseph L. Amos, Jr., of Fisher Rushmer, P.A. in Orlando, has been an active member of the Central Florida Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 2010. Joe has served in various officer positions in recent years, and was named President for 2017.

A recent case went before Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal to decide who is allowed to choose the corporate representative in a deposition. Following is a synopsis of the case and the Second District’s decision.
