Choosing the Best Law Firms
This is the ninth consecutive year that U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers have worked collaboratively in announcing the rankings of "Best Law Firms." Firms achieve rankings by receiving impressive ratings from clients and peers alike. Receiving a tiered ranking signals a unique combination of quality law practice and breadth of legal expertise. The rankings for 2019 were based on the highest number of participating firms and the highest number of client votes received on record.
To be eligible for a ranking, a law firm must have a lawyer listed in the 24th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America, which recognizes the top five percent of practicing attorneys in the U.S. Over 16,000 lawyers provided more than 1,125,000 law firm assessments, and almost 12,000 clients provided more than 107,000 evaluations. This year, 14,433 law firms were evaluated with just 2,118 receiving national law firm recognition.
